2011 nahm ich gemeinsam mit Jan Ploenes alias Ian Pladge ein Album mit Eigenkompositionen im Stil der frühen Beatles auf. Dieser Song war einer davon. Geschrieben habe ich ihn allerdings sehr viel früher, in den 1980er Jahren. Leider ist das Album damals nicht veröffentlicht worden, obwohl es eigentlich fertig produziert war. Aber den einen oder anderen Song daraus werde ich sicherlich noch hier präsentieren.
In 2011 I recorded an album of original compositions in the style of the early Beatles together with Jan Ploenes aka Ian Pladge. This song was one of them. However, I wrote it much earlier, in the 1980s. Unfortunately, the album was not released at that time, although it was actually finished. But I will surely present one or the other song from it here.

This instrumental piece was originally the result of me checking out my Korg Triton workstation – an ad hoc composition, if you will. Must have been in 2001 or so. But then I moved on and accomplished my already written and over the years forgot about this song. Lately I rediscovered it and based on the Triton sounds added some more sounds and restructured the sequence a bit. In 2012, I included it on my SOUNDCLOUDS album.

Café da Manha

Lange bevor sich die brasilianischen Musikstile Samba oder Bossa Nova entwickelten, war der beliebteste brasilianische Musikstil der „Choro“ und ein Markenzeichen dieses Stils war der Klang einer typischen kleinen brasilianischen Gitarre mit vier Saiten, die „Cavaquinho“ genannt wird. Um diesen Klang in meine eigene Musik einfließen zu lassen, kaufte ich 2006 ein solches Instrument und komponierte dieses Stück namens „Café da manha“ für mein Gitarrenduo „Rio Brio“. Zwei Jahre später habe ich diese Solo-Version aufgenommen. Neben dem Cavaquinho spiele ich auf diesem Stück noch Gitarren, Bass und Bongos.
Long before the brazilian musical styles samba or bossa nova evolved, the most popular Brazilian music style was the „choro“ and one trademark of this style was the sound of a typical tiny brazilian guitar with four strings called „Cavaquinho“. To incorporate that sound into my own music I purchased such an instrument in 2006 and composed this tune called „Café da manha“ for my guitar duo „Rio Brio“. Two years later I recorded this solo version. Apart from the cavaquinho I am playing guitars, bass and bongos on this track.

Noch so ein Titel, den ich urprünglich für eine Sängerin geschrieben hatte und den ich dann doch selbst zu singen genötigt war. Inhaltlich geht es im Songtext um einen Menschen, der seine Heimat verlässt, um woanders sein Glück zu suchen.
Another title that I wrote for a singer and which I then had to sing myself because I could not find one. It’s about a person who leaves his home country to seek happiness somewhere else.

Dieser Song entstand während des 1. Lockdowns in Deutschland 2020. Alle Instrumente (Gitarren, Bass, Keyboards gespielt von Uwe Fischer und Drum/Percuion-Loops) wurden mit einem Spire Studio Achtspurrecorder aufgezeichnet.
This song was composed and produced 2020 during the first Corona lockdown in Germany. All Instruments (guitars, bass, keyboard played by Uwe Fischer plus drum/percussion loops) were recorded on a Spire Studio 8-track recorder .
