AMBIVALENT – an album between silence and tension

First released in 2022, AMBIVALENT initially unfolded its soundscape purely digitally as a stream on all popular music platforms. In 2025, the album presents itself in a new form – visually and physically: AMBIVALENT will be released on vinyl with revised artwork on July 11. It is also Uwe Fischer’s first complete album on vinyl, 35 years after the release of his only vinyl single to date, WHILE OUR GUITARS GENTLY WEEP.

Stylistically, AMBIVALENT moves between ambient, experimental electronics and contemplative atmosphere. The title is no coincidence: the letters of “ambivalent” conceal the word “ambient” – a playful reference to the musical foundation of the album and the deliberate ambiguity that is also reflected in the tracks.

Two of the 14 tracks on the original digital version had to be abandoned due to the limited playing time of the vinyl. However, they are included on the accompanying CD version of 2025 – for anyone who wants to experience the work in full.
