While Our Guitars Gently Weep

My first own record was a single that I recorded together with Heiko Köbert in the guitar duo ARPEGGIO in 1989 and released on the Honeyland label in 1990, and this song was the A-side. It’s a quiet, fairly simple melody in C major, for which we didn’t have a proper name for a long time. It was called “Maus” for a while, then later “Simple Melody” for a short time. We then chose this title in reference to George Harrison’s song “While My Guitar Gently Weeps”.

The song also appeared on the CD A Taste Of Honeyland and my own CD Take A Listen.
